Resources for the General Public Arizona Military Bases
A Million Thanks - Send messages to the troops. Adopt a Platoon - Register to send soldiers care packages, letters, etc. Armed Forces Relief Trust - Collects and distrubutes monetary donations to the four military aid societies to disburse to military families in need. Donations accepted. Books for Soldiers - Collects donations of used books and sends them to deployed troops. Military personnel can also request specific books through this site. DefenseLink - Information and updates from the US Department of Defense. Operation Interdependence - Sending care packages to deployed military personnel. Operation Military Pride - Send messages and sponsor care packages for deployed military personnel. Operation Take a Soldier to the Movies - Supply donated new or used DVDs and movie theater-style refreshments to deployed military personnel. Donations accepted. Operation Uplink - Supply phone cards to deployed military personnel. Donations accepted. Operation USO Care Package - Send donations so the USO can send personal items in care packages to deployed troops. Packages from Home - Sending care packages to deployed military personnel. This organization is based in Glendale, Arizona. USA Freedom Corps - Volunteer opportunities throughout the country. Resources for Military Personnel and Their Families Air Force Aid Society - Assistance for active USAF personnel and their families. Donations accepted. American Red Cross - Services for the Military - Assistance with communications from active military personnel to their loved ones. Other services including financial assistance available for military personnel and their families. Army Emergency Relief - Emergency financial assistance program for active duty Army personnel and their families. Fisher House - Provide housing for loved ones of military personnel who have been hospitalized for illness or injury. Military Affiliate Radio System (NETCOM/MARS) - Families and personnel of the military and the Department of Defense may send non-commercial messages to each other. Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society - Financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, and their eligible family members and survivors in need. Donations accepted. Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act - Legal assistance for reserve military personnel called to active duty. US Army Judge Advocate General's Corps - Legal assistance for deployed military personnel and their families.
